My first lesson on posting pictures on the blog.

I took this picture of the sunset from the porch after the big snowy day. This is the view from her kitchen window.

This is not a forest fire. It is our tree rows at sunset after a dramatic wind and rain storm.













Coming back from Chillicothe the scenery changed from brown to white. Up to 8" of snow had fallen in some places. From Chillicothe almost to Evanston.










Spring work started as soon as we got home. Here I am preparing to burn the grass around the gated pipe.

Trip to Midwest

Here are some pictures of our trip. We left Thursday right after school to beat the storms. Drove to Rock Springs, stayed the night then on to Walnut Iowa, spent the night, then on. About 24 hous of driving all together. Kept ahead of the storms.

Water problems

Monday evening our water quit running. We have been having problems for some time with pressure and sand in the water, and finally it just quit. I called Eaton Drilling and some one came out Tuesday and said the well was probably dry and we would have to drill a new well because the big truck weighed too much and the ceiling of the well hole would cave in if they drove on it. Well that sounded like $7-10,000 worth of work. So today during my prep period I went down to Eaton's which is located in Wendell and talked to the owner. We decided to first pull up the 350 feet of pipe to see if the pump was good and to see if in fact the well was dry. When I got home, they were just finishing up and said I was lucky because they noticed one of the pipes at the 100 foot level had a hole in it and they thought that was probably the trouble. The pressure was pushing the water out the hole instead of in the tank. So rather than pull up the whole 350 feet of pipe, they replaced the one with the hole and lowered everything back in place. We turned on the pump, and sure enough, we had water. Hurray, $500 instead of thousands. The pictures are of them lowering the pipes back down. Like all projects, the two up above are watching and the one in the well hole is working.

This is Dad coming up from under the house asking me to get him a flashlight. He made the mistake of asking me the other day what things I needed done. He ended up with a list of about 25 things. Insulation under the house was one of those things. I wouldn't ever want to go under the house in the dark and damp. I appreciate that he will do that for us. I wanted a picture of it.

For those who did not get the email, here are pictures of the eagles we found roosting in a tree between Wendell and Hagerman. By the time we left, there were about 40 eagles in the tree.
