Mule Days

Last Saturday we went with two other couples to Mule Days at Kahoka, Missouri the mule capital of Missouri. It was pretty entertaining.

Mules everywhere
We did not know there were small mules. Some were smaller than these.

We were really impressed with the lady and mule below. The mule was trained very well and you could tell just by watching them ride, so Fran went down and talked to her. She is a trainer, of course. You can see a result of her performance below.

This race is like musical chairs. They go around and when the music stops, the mule must stand with a foot on the carpet or they are out.

Geodes

On our preparation day we went geode hunting. Apparently this area is famous for geodes. This is our first find.

40th anniversary

This morning Dad said, "Do you want to do the 5k?"

Me, "Mmmm, I don't know"

Dad, "C'mon, let's do it! It starts in a half hour."

So we flew out the door. I couldn't find my jogging pants so I had to wear a skirt.

It was fun and I got 3rd place in the 60-64 female age group.

We have had a good tomato harvest. Tonight we had the four couples that were in the MTC with us over for BLTs

You cannot tell, but this is a bright red sunset behind the Joseph and Hyrum statues, with the Mississippi river in the background. Just a block North of our house.
