
I went to a concert by the Magic Valley Symphony tonight and was so moved by the music and the presence of veterans in the audience who were invited to stand up so we could recognize them with applause. The conductor invited us to read this piece about the Star Spangled Banner, our national anthem, which he said is the best one in the world. Before we sang it four soldiers marched in and presented the flag. It was emotional to see these soldiers in real war time.

Yes, thank you. I love that picture.
i had heard the story in american history but never really remembered it until we lived near baltimore and went to fort mchenry and the house where the flag was made and the smithsonian where it remains. i think the anthem means a lot to Americans even if they don't remember the history of its origins though.
