Graduations

A soaking rain got our cut hay so we changed plans and green chopped instead of baling.
It was finished on Wednesday just in time for us to leave home with no worries and head to California the same day.
I went in the morning with Tracy so we could get to my sister's place in time to celebrate her birthday. Dad and Jay headed out in the afternoon and did the trip in two days. On the way Tracy and I saw nature's version of Y mountain to photograph for all you BYU alumni to see.

All the gang gathered for the graduation of our dear nephew, son, brother, cousin.

You can see the beautiful green hills as the back drop for a very nice graduation ceremony. It was a lovely, temperate California day.

The morning of Kelsey's birthday Jay and Uncle went golfing. Here he just completed a shot.

That evening we went out to dinner with the birthday girl and returned home for birthday cake.

Saturday morning G & G babysat while the grown-ups went to Baccalaureate.

The afternoon was time for celebrating Bill's achievement with family and friends at an open house.

And in amongst all the comings and goings sisters and brother-in-law took good care of us travelers with comfy beds, delicious meals and great company.

Finally graduation day arrived for the "master" and he hatched a plan to sit in the stands with his family for the morning general commencement.

Little did the jubilant graduates know there was a pretender about to march in with the masters of business management and engineering.

When they were called to stand to be recognized as certified the real master stood in the stands.

Jay stood with the college.

The kids went out occasionally for a diversion. They were real troopers for the whole day of festivities.

In the afternoon was the college commencement where Bill received his diploma.

This time Jay watched in the audience. Afterward the school gave a reception with a yummy meal.

That night we went to Bill's for a restful night and hearty breakfast in the morning before heading home. I'll have to find out how he makes pancakes with such good texture!
It was fun to have Jay for all the hours of the drive home. We enjoyed some great conversation.
We had a dead battery in Sparks but got a jump from the guy parked next to us. All was well when we arrived home.
