"Even When I'm in Kyoto I Long for Kyoto"-a travel writer

Buddhist Temple Garden

The uphill climb through the gardens.

Notice the gardener up in the tree. They are so important in keeping Japanese gardens looking like, well, Japanese gardens. We had some working on the trees in Rachel's backyard last week.
Zen sand sculpture
One of the "oodles" of school tour groups.
Walking along Philosopher's Path. I offered this shot to Rachel for their family Christmas card.
Some sights along the path.

The entrance to another temple garden.
Beaver is showing us just how big the doors are.

A five hundred year old tree.
Strolling along the streets of the eastern hillsides.
Charming little pagoda over on the hill.
A shrine.
The bamboo forest.
Back at the Kyoto train station climbing the lighted stairs.

Heading home with the commuters
