Mom's green blog

One thing I look forward to each year is the spring green of the ash trees along the driveway before they turn their deeper summer green.
When I was studying some physics with Jay in high school I learned why. Yellow-green is at the top of the brightness curve for color for the human eye. What a splendid treat to wake us up from winter slumber.

This year the whole farm is in beautiful deep green alfalfa. This is a view from the rock pile at the two mile road toward the house. As you can see in the north the mountains still have plenty of snow.
The red-winged blackbird considers the new wheel lines a convenient perch.

Hey nieces and nephew! The water in the canal is running high. Wish we could take our hike of last fall now. However we wouldn't be able to take Charlee and play fetch. She pesters the wildlife that are trying to nest and den and raise their young so she has to stay home this time of year. We had a fox start to den in the woodpile down by the corral but she pestered it too many times and the fox finally left. I was sad.
She couldn't understand why that good lookin' dog wouldn't play with her!

Lovely pictures. I'm hurrying to look at everyone's blogs before our computer shuts down again. You have as much green as Illinois right now!
