Leaving was "sweet sorrow"

With warm memories of our trip last June we looked forward to our visit to their charming town.
We knew it wouldn't be this green yet, however.....

We didn't realize we would be bringing them this!

Oh well, then we will stay in and make chocolate chip cookies since that is Grandpa's favorite treat.

And a game of Lego chess.

Grandma had to find something a two year old could play so he didn't destroy the chess game.

Look! Lost another tooth.

He still likes to wear hats. This one is his Dad's. It looks good on him.

He also likes to read his Captain Underpants book to Grandma and Grandpa, he thinks it's very funny. Especially the part about how grandparents are clueless. Like they don't have any concept of "what things cost. They give you a nickel and say 'Go buy yourself a video game.' " But if you had robo-grandparents they would say, "Here's $10,000 go buy yourself some candy."

When he got thinking about it, playing wouldn't be as fun without his sister so he declared, "Actually, girls are allowed in the clubhouse. I'm throwing this away."

The day we left the snow was almost gone. I sat in the backyard in the morning while the kids knocked down the snow fort, and listened to the birds and soaked in the feel of this area with its beautiful wooded rolling hills and the sense of American history, good and sad. If the move goes through as hoped we may never be back.

What's the latest news about the potential move?

It is so sweet to see the pics of you all having fun. Where's Fran?

And Lida is getting prettier and prettier.

You always do such a good job narrating your pictures. I'm surprised Aiden didn't get a headache from reading upside down. It was nice of him to play with Avery so the others could play chess. Tristan's sign was funny too. It's a good thing he changed his mind. Lidia seems to have more patience with him than Aiden, so he'd better not exclude her.
