Frustration

Okay, I have to vent to someone. As you know, I do not as a rule hire people to do things, thinking I can do whatever it is myself as good or better than anyone. But, as I get older, I decided I will have to hire some things done. So, when I bought a wheel line to water the corner, so I would not have so many handlines to move, I decided to let the irrigation company put them together. Last year I did it myself and it took a few days, so I thought they can do it in a few hours so why not let them. So I ordered 16 wheels and a mover. They brought it out and sure enough, when they finally got around to putting it together, it only took them a few hours. I had started doing it myself, but after three hours and only three wheel lines put together, I decided it was a good move having them do it, right? Well that depends. In the first place, there was 7 lines on one side and 8 lines on the other side. I called and the salesman said that the short lines that hook on to the mover count as one line, so there was 16 altogether. I then explained that I had wanted 8 lines on each side for a total of 16 wheels not 7 and 8. So I may have to fix that. Then I said that I wanted a 45 degree angle on the pipe at the end of the hose that hooks up to the mainline. Well, they welded a 45 degree angle pipe on the end of the wheel line that almost hits the ground so that it is hard to hook the hose into it. Then when I finally got it hooked up and turned the water on, the pipes on both ends of the hose were not parallel so that the hose twisted and the water does not go through. Then, I wanted a hose to hook up to the end of the wheel line so I could hook some handlines on and the hose they fixed up for me has two male ends, instead of one male and one female, so I connot even use it until they fix it. Besides that, some of the sprinklers on the wheel lines are not straight and many of them leak so I have to go tighten them all. The next time I am doing something and someone asks me why I don't hire it done, they better be ready for a long, heated response. Dad

Good thing we are moving closer soon. Cory would be glad to help you with these things. He says he will only charge you dinner and some babysitting. :)
I have the same thoughts about hiring people to do things. I hate having to do it myself but you pay people a lot of money and they do a crappy job and then don't feel they need to come fix it. My friends are always telling me how they hire people to do work and it takes them forever to come and do it and forever to finish and then they have to harass them for months to come fix what they did wrong. I don't want that stress. It is easier and faster and less stressful and less expensive to just do it yourself if you are able.

That's lousy.

I know nothing about farms so by the end of this post I just saw words running into each other, but I gathered that something went wrong, which is annoying, so I'm sorry.

We know all about this kind of thing. Here's a good one: The other day we got a bill for some work Bill asked to have done, and it also included about 3 things never asked for. Frustrating!

Are they going to fix your lines for you?
