I'm loving no glasses! After 48 years I can look in the mirror more than 8 inches away and see myself. I look familiar to me, kind of like my brothers and sisters.

These are my reading glasses.

This is a foxglove flower. In the waning days of the growing season I thought I'd better get a photo and record what a customer at the greenhouses told me. "Just look at this flower! It looks like its dripping with nectar. No wonder the hummingbirds and insects are attracted to it!"

So exciting! Now you can get elbowed in the face while playing basketball and it won't be such a big deal! That's one of my first memories of being grateful for contacts. I took an incidental elbow playing basketball at the church and realized that normally I would have had to be all worried about my glasses breaking plus the extra pain of metal smashing into my face. Isn't that a funny memory?
Also, we learned about foxglove last year in class. Nice to put a face with the name.
Fran, I love your new eyes. And your reading glasses are really cute. I'm glad everything went smoothly. Someday I'd like to join the lasik crowd.
Teresa didn't recognize you until we scrolled to the reading glasses picture.
