River Turtle

These are photos from June that I never got around to posting.
A river turtle who came up to the cornfield to lay her eggs.
There are many more eggs deep down.
Hardly can tell when she is finished covering it up.
The next day the hole was all dug up and most of the eggs gone. I covered up the hole when I saw it. The following day it was all dug up and the rest of the eggs were gone. You can't fool racoons.
The wild animals here aren't so wild. They must feel the sweet peace of Nauvoo.

So cool that you saw that! It's like your own nature show. Boo to the raccoons.
